Richard Orgain, O.D.

Richard Orgain, O.D. has been serving the eye care needs of Sumner County residents since 1978. His practice has been at its current location on Indian Lake Road since 1987.
A native of Alberta, Virginia, Dr. Orgain received his B.A. degree in biology from the University of Richmond and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society, student member of the Board of Trustees and was listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Dr. Orgain is certified by the Tennessee State Board of Optometry in the treatment of ocular disease and has been certified by the International Association of Boards for Treatment and Management of Eye Disease. He has served as a clinical investigator on different contact lens designs and has used many of these designs in his contact lens practice.

Dr. Orgain is a member of the Tennessee Optometric Association, where he served as president in 1987 and was named Optometrist of the Year in 1990. A resident of Gallatin, Dr. Orgain has four children, Katherine, Sarah, Emily and Brian. They are members of the First United Methodist Church in Gallatin.
